{ New Business Cards }

Here is another one of the changes I was talking about... my BUSINESS CARD!!!! I'm really excited about it. Such a simple design, but in my opinion.... rockin'.

Which is your favorite color? I think mine is maybe... yellow. :)

{ baby dallin }

I'm posting a little late... I've been doing some re-design work on my blog (obviously), my website (coming soon to a computer near you), and my logo and business card.

I'm really excited about these changes!!! And I'm really excited about this post.

I met baby Dallin at one of the weddings I photographed in Boise last year. Hands down, I, along with every other woman in that reception center, thought he was the cutest baby who ever lived.

I decided to do most of Dallin's shots with him in his birthday suit, and WHAT A TROOPER! We made it through heart-piercing cries, streaming "potty lines", lots of moving around, and lots of bright flashes. But, we made it. And we came out shining on the other side.

It was such a joy to watch his mom and dad on their new path in parenthood, and it was a pure pleasure to be able to spend my morning photographing this tiny little heart-breaker.

Cutest baby who ever lived? Tall order?.... yes. Filled?.... I'll let you be the judge.

'ainslee's portraits'

Ainslee is my big sister. She always has been. :)

And when I think of Ainslee, originally...when I was between 3-7, I see comfort. Someone who, when I got scared at night and couldn't sleep, would hold my hand until I could.

Thinking of Ainslee when I was 8-12, I see myself and the person she was helping me to become. (Indirectly of course). Getting teased for making good grades, using appropriate "big" words, and for being a pushover. And instead of having my hand held all night, I was reading John Grisham out loud and scratching her back.

When I think of Ainslee in my teenage years... I see doubt. Doubt and the voice of my Aunt Shellie telling us, "You know someday, you two are going to be best friends.".....

Then, Ains got married. She got married and she moved away. And then she had kids and became super woman. At least that's what I saw....

Recently, I've seen some fog. There have been a few tears.. the kind of tears that only best friends cry together. Late nights cleaning house, rocking kids to sleep, and mending a broken heart.

Now, in these photos, I can only see a whole lot of happy. Happy and hot. This is how I want to remember Ainslee for a long time to come.

I can't BELIEVE we haven't done it sooner, but here she is... in all her pre and post big sister glory.

My personal two favorites!...

'larger than life'

I just found out that a company called Margene's Bridal, based in Idaho Falls, Idaho, wants to use one of my photos to advertise their gorgeous dresses! My client, and little sister, Sidnee bought her wedding dress there in Boise. After seeing her photo shoot, they fell in love with her photos and decided they wanted to use one of them on a company billboard in Idaho Falls.

I don't know any of the specifics yet, but what I do know is... this picture is going to be larger than life. Literally!

'annie & rusty engagements'

WAHOO. What a fun couple. LOVE them. Such troopers. Battled the shade of death, sang a few "stay there, don't move" songs, and survived a few scoldings. I'll tell you what, November 7th is going to be a "crazy love" day... and now... thanks to Michael Buble, that phrase makes sense.
Annie. Rusty. Forgive your rambling photographer and enjoy the next few weeks of your engagement...

Commence awesome photo display:

'cale's announcement'

There aren't many things we, as a society, view as "important enough" to announce to the world. There are countless numbers of new souls being introduced to the world every year... every day... every hour... it has come to be so routine, so expected, so average. But when you stop to think about it, there really isn't anything more miraculous than the birth of a child...any child. Every child.

This child was just that. A miracle. And I was lucky enough to be a part of that announcement. Enjoy!

'harmonie's bridal sneak'

Harmonie is such a beautiful girl, and makes for an even more beautiful bride. Her dream has always been to have her bridals taken in fields of wheat and flowers... but she lives in St. George (land of red rock and tumbleweed). The only fields they have there are filled with sagebrush, cacti, and joshua trees... plus a whole lot of red dirt. ;) I was thrilled to be able to help her realize that dream here in Utah County. Here is a sneak peak of a few favorites from our session...
